I love commercials, especially the ones for kids products. They do all the right things to ignite passion and imagination in a child. It is the reason your kids see a commercial play 20 times and then become convinced that they have to have the product. Their whole life seems to revolve around the next game or action figure. It’s really amazing when you think about it.
Well this is exactly what happened in my house with Blendy Pens. My kids saw the commercial over and over and over again and started a virtual campaign for Blendy Pens. I was forced to watch the Blendy Pens commercial and got the usual, ’see mom, look what you can do with them’. I have been down this road before so I said, if you think that the Blendy Pens commercial is an accurate gauge of how those things work then you are wrong. I reminded them of all the toys and games we bought based on a television commercial only to find that the product did not perform same way. Even in the Blendy Pens commercial I was convinced that the art work had to be done by real artists and not kids.
I could not have been more wrong. I finally gave in because the price was low enough that I figured I could use as an opportunity to teach my kids a lesson. The Blendy Pens arrived and after breaking up a fight over who would get to use them first, my kids were hooked. Now I will say that their art work was not as perfect as what I saw on the commercial but Blendy Pens never said they would make my kids any better at creating art just that they could create their own custom colors and that they would have fun. Mission accomplished.
The Blendy Pens commercial does exactly what it is supposed to do. It entices children to want them. The Blendy Pens themselves do exactly what they are supposed to do, give kids hours of constructive activity. Worth the price of admission.
